About Heather

HEATHER TEXLE is the award-winning author of the Reliance Sinclair science fiction series who finds inspiration in quirky, weird, and I-can’t-believe-that’s-true things. With a lifelong passion for learning, Heather is fascinated with the creativity and ingenuity of the human spirit. She also adores a good conspiracy theory.

After graduating college, Heather moved to Minnesota where she attained her law degree and continues to live with her husband and two cats, Mew and Spots. Despite once being stranded in the Gulf of Mexico on a burning cruise ship, she loves to travel and can often be heard muttering, “I miss Scotland” on cool, rainy days. Her debut novel, On Impulse, won the 2023 Minnesota Author Project contest for Adult Fiction.

The Staff

Mew

Mew spent the first six months of his life living on the mean streets of Saint Paul, MN before selecting the Texle household as his place of employment. We weren't hiring at the time, but he walked in with an adorable face and real go-getter attitude that we couldn't resist. He quickly rose through the ranks thanks to his keen intelligence and willingness to lead others (mostly to the food dish). His early projects included learning over a dozen skill sets with lay down, roll over, and head-butts being his most accomplished. He's currently in one of our top management positions and, at seventeen, still shows no sign of slowing down (except maybe in his company headshot).

Spots

Spots was a legacy hire. His mother temped for the Texles for a short time before finding permanent employment in another household but not before securing a position for her son. Spots started out in the kitchen as a taste tester and then did a stint in quality control (we're proud to say every bed, pillow, and cushion here meets his exacting standards). At fourteen years old, he splits his time between security (notably bird and squirrel duty) and wellness. In both 2022 and 2023, he won the company's coveted Most Naps Assisted Award. You may see him popping into the social media department on a regular basis.
